EEOC’S GIFT – EEO-1 REPORT NEW DEADLINE IS JANUARY 9TH

Employers Have One Last Chance for Compliance: Be Sure Your EEO-1 Report is Filed by January 9
Procrastinators rejoice – if you failed to meet the December 5th deadline for filing your 2022 EEO-1 report, we have some good news! The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has decided to embrace the season of giving by granting a surprise extension until January 9th. After that, expect them to become very Grinchy, as no more extensions will be allowed, and the portal will be shut down.
Employers who have at least 100 employees and federal contractors who have at least 50 employees are required to complete and submit an EEO-1 Report to EEOC and the U.S. Department of Labor every year. The report is designed to collect information about employees’ job categories, ethnicity, race, and gender. Although the new deadline has now been moved to 2024, the data being reported is for 2022. You can find instructions on how to file here.
